A day as a Detective!

Our lives have become very monotonous. The only outings we have are the malls or movies or to a restaurant. Among the same old boring options – we found something interesting: “Clue Hunt” – India’s first live escape game!

The website says, “Clue Hunt is a ‘Room Escape’ game, a clue finder, a mini-theatre and a live action flick at the same time, where you yourself control the course of events. At first sight, it is just another room, but in fact, it is a crime scene full of clues. The goal is simple yet challenging: get out in 60 minutes! Rely on your brains and intuition. Have confidence in yourself and your friends. Discover the secret that awaits you. Do not forget: the mind is the most powerful weapon.”

In my words, Clue Hunt is a game where they have different crime set ups in different rooms and you have to look through the clues – solve them, move ahead and finally get the key to unlock you from the room you are locked in – for an hour. So you have 60 minutes to solve the crime and emerge as a winner. Mind you, the clues are not very easy – They are challenging and tricky and fun at the same time.

My friend was was turning 25 and we thought it was a fun idea to try it out with the group. So, 6 of us set out and chose to visit their Bandra outlet – which has 2 crimes to choose from. It was either a bombing crime or a murder mystery and we chose the latter.

We were asked to reach the venue 25-30 minutes earlier, but struggling through the Sunday traffic at Linking Road, we reached just in time at 5pm.

We were glad that we reached at last and that could now experience something new for the next hour. When we entered the room, it did just look like a plain room – nothing extraordinary, except there was the outline of a dead body on the floor like in the movies. I will not divulge details of the clues and how we did or did not crack them.

The guys there, do help you a couple of times if needed. We unfortunately could not complete the Clue Hunt successfully, but we had a lot of fun while trying to solve the many clues left for us in there.

I would rate the experience 8/10. Would have loved it more if we could have solved the crime. Apparently, we weren’t bad for first timers, they said.

They have total of 7 Crimes to solve across Bandra, Andheri and Lower Parel.
